CMS Townsville Christian Conference 2008
Talks from the conference are now available as audio, with video to follow.
Ray Galea was the featured speaker at the conference (10–12 October 2008), delivering four talks on the Psalms under the topic "Why are we here? Exploring the Glory and Uncertainty of Humanity". A further talk was given on the Sunday morning after the conference, which is also included as a bonus.
You can download the mp3 files from the links below, or listen online with the player. Our apologies for the bad quality recording for the first few talks.
A podcast is also now available which includes talks from other special talk series.
Talk 1: Psalm 139 "The Great Know it all!" MP3 (17Mb)
Talk 2: Psalm 8 "The Priviledge of the Human Species" MP3 (16.9Mb)
Q and A MP3 (5.05Mb)
Talk 3: Psalm 51 "Desperate for a Clean Slate" MP3 (16.3Mb)
Talk 4: Psalm 78 "Passing on the Baton" MP3 (16.2Mb)
Sunday morning talk: Romans 5 MP3 (16.8Mb)
Sermon archives elsewhere
There are several archives of sermon audio and text on the Internet from well known speakers which are worth plundering for their riches. Use them for sermon audio on long car trips, or to listen to while ironing. Search the archives for sermons on specific topics or passages of scripture.
Here is a selected list of sites to start you off:
Desiring God (John Piper, also includes free books)
European Leadership Forum (various speakers, including Bruce Winter, Ravi Zacharias, Peter Jensen)
SydneyAnglicans.net (Peter Jensen, Al Steward, John Dickson, Simon Manchester and many more)
St Helens, Bishopsgate London (various speakers, including Dick Lucas, Don Carson and many others)
TheResurgence (podcast and vodcast; various speakers including Don Carson, Timothy Keller, Mark Driscoll)
Mars Hill Church (Mark Driscoll; at times controversial in the USA because of his turn of phrase and "crudeness", but possibly not much different from the language of Australian culture. Very direct and hard hitting)
Redeemer Presbyterian NY (Timothy Keller and others; most sermons must be paid for, but the free samples are well worth hearing)
BiblicalTraining.org (online theological education)
Reformed Theological Seminary (online theological education, lectures via iTunes)
